API Features
Hoiio API provides developers with access to voice and SMS services in their applications.
With Hoiio API, you can
- Make or receive phone calls
- Send or receive SMS
- Create interactive voice response (IVR) menus
- Create call conferences
You can now extend the reach of your applications into the traditional
telephone network easily at no startup cost.
Requirements
Hoiio API provides a set of easy-to-use RESTful APIs accessible over HTTPS.
Basic knowledge of HTTP is all that you require to use Hoiio API.
Since HTTP is a standard, you can use Hoiio API with any programming
language or development platform.
Architecture Overview
Generally, applications use a set of Hoiio RESTful APIs, and Hoiio will
perform the required telecommunication work.
More specifically, applications set the parameters of the API with:
- An access token which you can obtain for free at Hoiio Developer Portal
- Information such as the destination phone numbers or the SMS message content
Once the parameters are sent to our Hoiio servers via the API call, Hoiio will do the required job over the traditional telephone network.
From the end user's point of view, it is exactly like receiving a phone call or
an SMS. The users can even interact with your application via interacive voice
response (IVR).
Pricing
Hoiio API adopts a simple pay-as-you-go pricing. You only pay for what you use.
There are 5 pricing components: making/receiving voice calls, sending/receiving SMS and numbers subscription.
Voice calls are charged on a per-minute basis, SMS on a per-message basis and numbers on a monthly basis.
